The SAMP ASEAN Heath Infrastructure program will develop opportunities for Australian industry to provide services such as architectural design, building and construction, engineering and consulting, project management, health planning, quantity surveying, cost management and locally manufactured medical equipment into a rapidly growing regional health sector.
The first stage of the project will target seven new hospital projects in Malaysia and Indonesia, establishing a “total solution” alliance of Australian expertise capable of developing credibility and “all Australian” solutions for project proponents.
The Alliance team combines the capabilities of a well established health infrastructure alliance - Health Team Australia and extensive knowledge of Australian health industry capability provided by the ICN National Sector Manager Health and the ICN National Network.
Over thirty privately and government funded facilities have been approved or are under process for approval for construction in the region between 2011 and 2015. These projects present significant opportunity to Australian industry to establish a long term presence in the ASEAN market providing total solutions to major health project proponents.
The project aims to have Australian industry widely accepted as a supplier of health solutions to the region and share in the estimated $2 billion plus dollars that will be spent in the Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia over the next five years.
